I want to start my summer readings with a bunch of books that set place during the twenties and concerns the lost generation. I am thinking maybe reading ten of those. These books are something that should be read slowly and you should be able to taste every single beautiful word that is printed.
Here are some ideas what to read concerning the lost generation
-A moveable feast by Ernest Hemingway
-The great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
-Tender is the night by F. Scott Fitzgerald
-A farewell to arms by Ernest Hemingway
-For Whom the Bell Tolls by Ernest Hemingway
-The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway
-This Side of Paradise by F. Scott Fitzgerald
-The Beautiful and Damned by F. Scott Fitzgerald
-The Paris Wife by Paula McLain
-Everybody Was So Young: Gerald and Sara Murphy: A Lost Generation Love Story by Amanda Vaill
-Sylvia Beach and the Lost Generation: A History of Literary Paris in the Twenties and Thirties by Noël Riley Fitch
I also want to read a Science fictions book called Accelerando by Charles Stross and if I like it I would like to read more books from him.
Of course I want to read some book concering philosphy and existentialism if you can call Albert Camus an existentialist.
- The stranger
- The myth of sisyphus
- Sören Kierkegaard I urval
- Nausea
