Do what you want

We have all been in a situation where we overthink about something we want to do. Whether it is to talk to someone you like, to ask a "stupid" question or do something nice for another person we tend exaggerate the outcome in a negative way. We are afraid of getting rejected, what people think of us and of failing to achieve our expectations. This fear is normal but it is no excuse not to do what you want. When we are aware of our fears and what is stopping us we can work around them and deal with them better.

So before you listen to your fears, ask yourself these following questions..

Realistically what is the worst possible outcome of doing what you want? Will you die? Will your life really be ruined?

Will this matter in 10 years? Will you really care about what a person thinks about you in 10 years.

"Rejection will never hurt as long as regret". Is it worth living with the regret of not doing you wanted rather than getting rejected? Remember that if you get rejected the feeling feel pass, you will feel good about yourself again. The real problem is if you live with regret because that is something you can never change.

If someone thinks badly about you, does it matter? If a couple of people don't like you remember that there is 7 billion other people out there that you can meet.

Are you afraid of making mistakes? Better to do it wrong, than not do it at all because then you will learn until you get it right.

Now you may go ahead.. Decide whether you want to listen to your fears or do what you truly want.
